Cheap international calling card

When traveling to a new country for a much-deserved vacation, one must be ready for the unexpected. Travel entails you to do some research on the place and to arm yourself with enough knowledge to move around on your own. Here are some survival tips when traveling on your own:

~List your itinerary. After doing some research on where to go and what to do, jot them down and have the list with you at all times. This way you get to maximize your trip and avoid ending up doing nothing.~Befriend the locals. Although this is not always a wise thing to do, especially when you have to be wary of your pockets getting picked or your wallet getting stolen, the locals know the ins and outs of their community more than you. Hook up with a local tourist guide to show you around.

~Travel light. Avoid bulky luggage. It will be easier for you to move around and check in and out of airport and hotels without having to worry about your luggage.

~Stay connected. Get a cheap international calling card to let your family, friends, or even boss, know where you are and how you’re doing. A card may come in handy in emergencies.

Do you have relatives living abroad? Why not surprise them with a phone call on special occasions. Grandma may not have access to an email account, but she will sure appreciate your voice on the telephone. Keep close family bonds even though relatives are far away.

Even though phone calls are usually expensive, there are ways to save dollars on overseas calls. Try using an international calling card that offers friendlier rates. Frugality should never be an excuse not to greet grandma on her birthday!

I lived next door to my best friend for decades.  Her family home was right next to mine.  We coincidentally picked the same city for college so we got to hang out with each other.  Growing up in small town and moving to a big city was such a huge change and with my friend there with me, I was able to make the transition so much better than I would if I was all by myself.

After college, I moved back to my hometown to be back with my family.  Emily, on the other hand, always a little more adventurous than I ever was, decided to move to another country.  That’s when the big phone bill came in.  I found cheap international calling cards that reduced my bill by a ton.

Phone Cards

If you are looking for a phone card or an International Phone Card here are some tips that you should know.

Tip #1 -Eliminating the False Offers

Advertisements for 1 Cent a minute for International Calling are not usually a real offer.

Tip #2 – Connection  or Disconnections Charges

The most common charges are connection and disconnection charges; these charges can range from 10 cents to a few dollars just for connecting or disconnecting a call. So always check the “more information” or “more detail” links to see what the other charges there are.

Tip #3 – Other Hidden Charges

Monthly, weekly service fees, or maintenance fees are other hidden fees that can be found in some Calling Cards. These fees can use up balance without you even making a call.

Tip #4 – Billing Increments

Look for what the cards bill you at whether it is per second, per minute, per 3 minutes, and even per 5 minutes. This means if you make a 1 minute call with a card that bills in increments of 3 minutes, you would get charged for 2 extra minutes. So look for Calling Cards that bill per minute or per second.

Tip #5 – Do Calling Cards Expire?

Some cards do expire and when they do, what ever is left on the card is lost. So look for cards that never expire or Calling Cards you can recharge.

Tip #6 – Added Features

There are some Calling Cards that offer extra features besides their calling service. Account management, speed dial, voicemail, and more. This can be a sign it is a solid product.
